A Home Party with The Wine Shop At Home(TM)

24 April 2009 216 views 4 Comments

My goal is to attend 12 events, home parties (or some other direct sales  related meetings) this year. So direct sellers, keep me on your invitation list.

This helps me understand what you are experiencing in real time, hear what your customers are saying and keep my direct selling training relevant and current.

Last nite I attended a home party where Christine Kowalski was both the Host and Consultant.  She is an Independent Consultant with The Wine Shop At Home.

This was my first time attending a home party with this company or product line. I really had a nice time and learned some new information about wine and met a half a dozen new women (7 guests attended). This was a great opportunity for me to taste a generous selection of wines, meet some new contacts and wind down after a  busy week . From the conversation, it appeared that Christine met most of the attendees from networking, which led to some funny stories.

Although there was a red wine that I found interesting…(Mariana, I think)…I purchased my favorite…chardonnay (like you wanted to know?).

The support material and marketing literature was well done and helped me as a ‘customer’ follow the presentation. And I use the word presentation loosely… it never felt like a very formal presentation, more like friends chatting about wine.

One guest, Alena, had been to Italy and talked about her visit to the wineries.  Christine (and The Wine Shop At Home) narrowed down the choices so it is was easy to understand the options available.

Be prepared to pay a $12 shipping fee,  (* may vary by state and is common with most all home parties) which needs factored  into the cost. However, for me, that expense was in my mind the cost for a fun evening which included entertainment and education.

There was no pressure to purchase – Christine made that clear.

Christine served liked snacks: strawberries, cheeses & crackers.

I will follow up and see if Christine is willing to post her web site and the sales from this event. If you have never been to one of these events, then I would suggest you do so!

As a brand new consultant with Wine Shop at Home, I am thrilled to hear about your positive exprience at the tasting you attended and glad you enjoyed the wines. Did you know that if you order a case of wine you will receive free shipping? Keep that in mind for future orders. And a case can consist of different wines, not just one type.

Great point, Lisa! That is a nice option for customers, especially since you offer an assortment.
    Thanks, Barb

Thanks for visiting my site/blog. I love home parties – all kinds! What can I say….
As a matter of fact, to help me constantly re-earn the title (beyond my years of experience),’direct selling expert’, I attend one home party, business opportunity meeting or team meeting each month and am often inspired to write about the experience. It is very interesting to observe first hand what is working and what is not working…to hear what the customers are saying, how the reps are positioning their service, getting bookings or attracting new recruits. This gives me fresh stories and helps my training be relevent to what participants are likely to be experiencing in their business.

So far this year, I have attended a:
    *The Pampered Chef party
    *A 31 Gifts party
*A Wine Shop at Home party
*A business opportunity meeting for Arbonne
*A team training meeting for The Pampered Chef
Plus a number of vendor fairs where direct sellers, entrepreneurs and sellers where selling their wares….
Now, admittedly… the wine taste testing was fun (especially if you consider it part of my “work”) – their chardonay passes the test …however my passions are wide and varied.
So get me invited to a Swiss Just party and I can add your new company to my list of recent visits.
Thanks for visiting my blog and come back often to see what’s new. Tell your field about me too. Overtime this will become an even more robust place for companies, teams and entrepreneurs to help you grow sales. Consider me a resource!
    All the best,
    Barb
